Creatine supplement

Hello fellows blenders! 

Has anyone of you experience using a creatine supplement? For a year I have tried to put on weight (so far I gained 3 kgs). For years my goal is also to have nice ripped muscles ( I love strength training). 

I am eating quite well and enough. However, I read that using creatine can damage the kidneys. 

Would you recommend it?
