Strength training

How did you find your footing in strength training ? Do you think i should see a trainer because I don’t know, there are so many variety of strength training moves here and they always say to push ourselves but I end up hurting myself and I am always worried I am not practising correct form? Do you think I am just being paranoid ? How do you tackle new exercises and new moves in the strength training videos ? How long do you practice them before adding weights ?
