F45: what is it?, can you build muscle while doing it? and are the results that good?

Hi everyone.

Recently a F45 gym has popped up just round the corner from my house and I have been curious about what it actually encompasses? The F45 website is super vague and I do not understand how it’s different from cross fit. So, I thought it would be good to ask a fitness community and see if any of you have been to one or know something about it. I do not plan on paying $500 for a 8 week program 😱 (it’s still amazing that fitness blender gives me access to 8 week programs for $15/20!) but I may just do a trial to relieve my curiosity....

Here are my questions

What is F45?

Is it possible to gain muscle mass whilst doing F45?

Is it safe?

Are the acclaimed results realistic?

And lastly, is it a cult? 😆
