Back injury

A couple of weeks ago I injured my back (i think it was from lifting weights that were too heavy) and it’s been hurting on and off since then. After I did it I took a week off high intensity exercise and just did some walking and pilates, and then when it stopped hurting I gradually went back to higher intensity exercise.

Today it’s started really hurting again, so I’ve booked an appointment with the doctor again to try and get some physio.

I really don’t want to stop doing exercise and I’m one of those people that doesn’t feel like I’ve done a workout unless i’m sweating like mad and aching :( (not a great mindset i know, i’m trying to work on this)

Does anyone have any advise on lower back pain and what exercise I can safely do with it to maintain muscle/tone/stamina etc.?
