The science behind the science (yes) of nutrition and depression

I've come across this new paper - a systematic review of previous systematic reviews and meta-analyses on the link between nutrition and mental health and thought maybe some of you will find it interesting or relevant.

The takeaway message is that food choices can affect the mood of a mentally healthy person, but you won't cure/prevent depression with dietary intervention.

The reason why I'm sharing this is because I have spent way too much time blaming myself for mental health issues, and the constant message that eating "clean" and "correct" foods would prevent them coming at me from all directions has resulted in further problems that I'm still struggling with. It's important to recognise that depression is just something that happens to people, and one should not blame themselves for it.
