How to create long muscles..

I'll start by saying that I'm a Latina so I'm predisposed to have a big butt. After more than two months with FB my body has changed (which is great!) But I'm not loving the shape. As I mentioned before my legs and butt have become "thicker"I'm fairly short so I think it only makes me look bigger than I am. I'm mostly doing hitt and weight training. What could be a better alternative for longer "slimmer" muscles? It could be diet based but considering my abs aro starting to pop out I wouldn't have thouyy so.
