Question for Petites

Hi all! Hope everyone’s having a good week.

I’m intrigued to hear from fellow petites (I’m 4’10”) — how are you managing your calorie deficit and weight loss? What FB programs have you done? How many weekly HIIT workouts work for you? I read somewhere that for petites, the optimal plan is at max 2 HIIT sessions a week and strength training in between. More cardio/HIIT will make us ravenous that will set back progress against calories in vs calories out.

I plan to do 1 or 2 of FB’s 5-Day Challenges that does HIIT 3x a week. So I’m going to find out first hand by then. But right now I’m curious about other petites’ experience and thoughts.

I lost about 3.5kg with the FB Low Impact R2 coupled with eating right: more veggies and enough carbs (I used to overeat a lot). I didn’t track calories. But now I may have to try since I think I hit a weight loss plateau. Do you guys track your calorie intake at all?

My TDEE with 3-5 days of moderate exercise is 1,647 calories per day (https://tdeecalculator.net). If I cut 500 calories in order to lose 1 pound per week, that only leaves me with 1,147 which is problematic as it is below the 1200 minimum. It seems losing slower at half a pound per week to up my calorie expenditure to 1397 is more doable. Is there a better approach? As if losing weight isn’t already tough, it’s even tougher for shorter people. Basically, the smaller your body, the less energy it needs—and the less it burns.
