Active day, workout, or both?

I have a upper body workout scheduled this morning, but I spent 2 hours yesterday shoveling and moving bark mulch around my yard and I'd like to finish that off today, which is probably another two hours. I work out so I can do things like this with more ease and the last thing I want to do is overdo it. Also I’m not so young anymore😐. Would both be too much or what is the happy medium?
