Fit rd 1 day 10 and how to modify side lunges?

So today I had this;

A great workout. I made my customary modifications for my well documented dodgy knees. I cut the lunges in half doing just 5 per side BWO and added in some pilates pulses and hydrants as well.

The only move I really can not do is the side lunges. Way too much stress on the knee I can only do a tiny micro release. I wan't sure what to do instead so on the spot did standing side leg raises holding a weight against my leg. Not sure it targeted the same muscles? but I could do it and it burned pretty well so I assume I got something out of it!

Anyone else have to sub these out? what do you do instead?
