Can i get in shape with just strength training and pilates?

Im just curious if itll have good results if i dont do HIIT as my lungs are a bit messed up from smoking. And also how would i get my metabolism back on track after a month of crash dieting? I want to get really healthy because i got the best news ever that me and my husband are on the waiting list for IVF and i have to not smoke and be really healthy and i am super motived now.
