Crunch Alternatives Due To Neck Pain?

Hi Blenders!

I've been with FB for a few years but took a long break recently and I'm just getting back into my regular workouts. My issue is, during ab routines anything remotely crunch-like causes serious discomfort for my neck. So much so that I have to stop because of my neck, not my abs. Even crunch exercises where my hands aren't behind my head give me trouble.

I've done my best to make sure I'm not pulling on my neck when I crunch and focusing on using only my core to pull me up, but I think my abs may be so weak right now that no matter what a crunch will strain my neck.

SO... my question is does anyone know any non-neck straining ab exercises I can sub in for crunch variations during my ab routines? I've been doing a million Russian Twists because I can't think of any others lol. I'm assuming once I build up some strength it will get better, but for now I want some variety to help me get there! Any help is appreciated!
