I am hungry all the time!!

Not sure if this is the right place to post my question so let me know if I need to move it. Ever since I started working out my appetite has increased, which I take as a good sign, but the problem is that I am hungry all the time. I eat enough food during meals but I get hungry about two hours later. My diet is mostly vegetarian so I'm wondering if I need to eat more meat to suppress the hunger? I can't figure out what I should eat most of the time so I ended up eating unhealthy food like cake, ice cream, and a whole bag of popcorn as snacks. Any suggestions for supplementing my meals? And any suggestions for filling snacks would be helpful too. I do eat nuts, which helps, but I need more variety.
