Calorie Intake

Hi all! I know Kelli and Daniel aren't big on counting calories, but my doctor advised I start before I have lasting health effects due to my weight. I'm getting mixed suggestions on how many calories I should eat a day. I know you subtract 500 calories from what you need to consume to maintain your weight, in order to lose weight at a healthy rate. I'm just struggling to figure out what that number is. Any assistance and guidance would be great!
