Help - Want to lean out my thighs

So here's the deal... my thighs are big. They are not fat. It's all muscle but I don't like the bulk and hate that for the first time in 10+ years - they touch. What can I do differently to lean them out? Lift lighter with more reps? Less HIIT/more strength training? More HIIT/less strength training? More pilates? What? Any insight or help is appreciated.
