Good morning Blenders! Your friendly weekend ghost (guest-host, if youâre new!), Coby, here!
Letâs just get to the picture right away. This guy with the bedroom eyes and pretty coral and black coloring is a Gila (pronounced âhee-luhâ) Monster. Itâs the only venomous lizard native to the United States, found in the desert Southwest. Now, growing up in Arizona, I never saw one in the wild, but was certainly aware of my surroundings if trekking out in the desert. As I kid, the rumor was that if one bit you, it would hold on and never let go, unless you submerged it in water. Great! But...thereâs not much water out in the middle of the desert, so that wasnât a very good remedy. I actually donât know if thatâs true or not, but I DO know that Gila Monsters are actually very sluggish and slow-moving, so youâd have to really try hard and perhaps be a bit of a dunce to get bitten by one.
Enough about deserts and dunces! Whatâs on the workout schedule for today? Are you resting and taking it easy? Or perhaps working up a sweat? Getting out into some sunshine if itâs warm enough? I havenât figured out my workout today- probably something involving my core, and a walk around the neighborhood because if I donât get out of the house I am going to eat my people! đ
Speaking of eating, whatâs for dinner? Or breakfast or lunch? Since I am actually not a cannibal and I love my people, I think weâll have some real food! I donât know what just yet. Maybe I can convince hubby to grill some burgers and Iâll roast some sweet potatoes and make some buns? That sounds good to me!
All right Blenders. Please donât worry about my people- I promise not to eat them. Donât worry about Gila Monsters either. In fact, letâs just try not to worry at all today. I think Iâm quoting this correctly, but âworrying today only robs tomorrow of its strength.â And weâre STRONG!
***Editing: I totally quoted that wrong! đ¤Śđ˝ââď¸ Itâs more like âworrying about tomorrow only robs TODAY of its strength.â That works much better!
