Stockpiliers. Please, discourage people from this shortsighted and greedy practice. If you're guilty of it, please stop and think about the long term and other people. Stockpiling is completely unnecessary and only ensures that many families will face hardships they otherwise would not have.
You don't need to stock up your home like the apocalypse is coming. Covid-19 is serious but it isn't going to end the world. Even if you wound up in a situation where you were locked down in your home like many around the world currently, do you really think you'd be left to starve? Supplies would be brought in likely by military/emergency services/humanitarian delegations/National Guard. Nobody is going to be left to starve in their home in a developed country.
Stockpiling puts your elders at extreme risk as well, by making them have to travel around all over town just to find a single roll of toliet paper. It's a selfish practice and we need to work in our communities to discourage it. EVERYONE needs and should be able to get supplies.
