Serious case of DOMS

I did a lower body strength training workout on Thursday - at the time it didn't feel like I had worked really hard. I was sweaty, but didn't have the 'shaking legs' feeling that I normally get after a hard workout. Fast forward to two days later and I can hardly move! I feel like an old lady, especially when I have to bend over, go up stairs, or sit down :) I am going to skip the HIIT I had scheduled for tomorrow, and maybe do a stretching workout instead. any advice on other things I can do to ease my sore muscles?
