Good morning/afternoon/evening, depending on where in the world you are :)
We just released a new FB Plus workout. Well, it's not really a workout, but it's a routine that I hope makes you feel great.
Life is hard! Even when life is great, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the fast pace.
The good news is that there are some very simple and scientifically backed ways to nearly instantly reduce the physical impact of stress. Things that you can do anywhere, any time.
You want to help keep your body in the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) - rest and digest, rather than the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) - fight or flight. When the body goes into flight or fight mode, all kinds of things happen in our bodies; our hearts pound, breathing rate increases - or you might even hold your breath - digestion and circulation are impacted, muscles tighten, etc.
It's a body system meant to protect us from danger. Unfortunately, we can go into fight or flight over almost any perceived threat. In today's world, that can translate to a body that is spending a disproportionate amount of time in the fight or flight state, which is not optimal for good health, rest, recovery, digestion, or healing.
Slowing down enough to focus on our breath can often be enough to coax our bodies back into a parasympathetic state (rest, digest, and heal), helping us to bring ease to both body and mind.
Check out this new video and let us know what you think!
