Pull-ups, anyone?

I’ve just installed a pull-up bar in my little home gym. I’ve got several non-pull-up ideas about it, but I also really want to be able to do a pull-up. I never have. I have a vague idea of things I can do to work toward it and I’ve been doing my research, but I wonder, particularly from the ladies out there, are pull-ups or pull-up-ajacent exercises part of your routine? How did you get there?

As a side note, I want to say thanks again to those who offered condolences on the loss of my dear kitty. We, including our other kitty, are gluing ourselves back together with lots of love.
