To count or not to count?

Hello FB community, I was wondering if some of you could weigh in on counting calories. Do you choose to do it and, if so, what app do you use and how has your experience been?

Personally I always go back and forth. I enjoy being active but find that I need to eat a lot to maintain my activity level. I have about 8 lingering pounds I want to lose and feel like everytime I cut calories I drop weight, only to creep back up when I start eating more again. It feels like I am caught between the two extremes between wanting to restrict and wanting to enjoy food. Any thoughts or recommendations are appreciated! Thanks :)
