Advice on meditation?

Hi there! So, after reading a bit and watching some documentaries about meditation / mindfulness, I am ready to try, to start building even more healthy habits :) (this year I have, for the first time in my life, really started to pay attention to my body - thanks FB!!!! - and, boy, has it been rewarding).

Anyway, I live somewhere where I am not 100% comfortable with the language, so I am not ready to join a local group / course. So I wanted to ask you about any book / app/ online resource / community where to get started.
