This is such a super outlet for how I'm feeling during this first trimester, while I don't really want to share this with the entire social media universe.
I was looking at my FB calendar and November was pretty consistent, 3-4 times a week. I remember being a little tired, but pushing through. Then the 5 weeks pregnant nausea and exhaustion hit me harrrrrrd overnight and my calendar looks like this.
This isn't me being lazy. This is me being debilitatingly nauseous, further fuelling exhaustion. Yesterday I had a morning where I felt a little less crap for the first time in over two weeks. So...instead of getting a workout complete, my husband and I had sex....because... honestly it is NOT a priority when you feel this awful all the time. So, that was a workout complete in a way hahaha. Then felt sick the rest of the day.
Today I felt sick the first half of the day, went to a funeral and came back gagging into the sink. But after lunch felt a little less bad....so I browsed some workouts and did the following:
1) Pre-natal cardio 20mins BodyFit by Amy
2) FB 8 min abs
3) FB 14min restorative yoga stretching
I was SO worried that I would realise my endurance has gone to crap BUT doing this VERY low impact cardio today I realised the following:
Sure, I'm absolutely exhausted after doing cardio that 4 weeks ago would have been an easy warm up. But the saving grace is that my recovery is actually pretty much the same as it was before! So I'm not staying breathless and winded, I'm recovering pretty well. Yay!
I can tell I've put on some weight, but this is unavoidable as it's from eating the only foods that make me not gag and not feel sick - so a fair bit of potato, some potato chips and more potato. I'm trying SO hard to put salad and fruit in my mouth, but some days it's just not happening. I tried force feeding myself soup the other week and it did not end well. I should say that ordinarily I'm a healthy and balanced eater.
8 weeks pregnant update...*long post alert*
