Hi again! I wanted to share something I heard on a random Youtube video recently that really stuck with me.
I have a hard time with discipline. I work longer hours four days a week, and by the time I get home it's hard to think about picking up weights or rolling out a mat or hitting the HIIT workouts.
Anyway, what I heard on this video was about how to build your discipline muscle. We (the general "we") often think about building trust in terms of other people. I need to follow my word, I need to maintain my relationships, I need to do what I say and show up on time, etc.
For discipline, it's important to build trust with YOURSELF. Keep your appointments with yourself for your workouts or healthy eating or time with those who emotionally support you. Don't break that relationship of trust with yourself because it is just like with other folks -- if someone else proves themselves to be flaky or not present, would you keep your relationship with them?
Anyway, this is something that stuck with me. Hope you enjoy.
