Eating more to lose weight?

I was wondering what everyone's opinion on eating more calories to lose weight was. I have recently hit a plateau in my weight loss and I decided to figure out a calorie goal as a way to see whether or not I'm eating too much and that's why I'm not losing more weight. Every app or website that I went on to calculate what I should be eating put me around 2000cal. Every one except MyFitnessPal. I had been stick to a 1600-1800cal goal up until this point so I was very interested in the fact that it was telling me to eat more. As a reference for my activity level, I workout 5 days a week. 3days strength training, 2 days cardio. I will often burn out my muscles with some HIIT after my strength routines as well. So I do a decent amount of cardio each week.
