upper body and neck strain?

Hi everyone! I've noticed that when I start up with the upper body workouts consistently, I have some neck strain and shoulder pain. the muscles connecting between my chin and shoulder blade tighten significantly, and it can cause a lot of discomfort. Maybe it is part of the trapezius muscle?

Anyway, I am wondering if any of you experience the same thing, and what I can do about it?
