Improving on ab workouts?

So, I suck at ab workouts 😅 I really wanna improve my core strength... I try to push through but I get disheartened by the fact I’m rubbish at them! Even though I can sweat my way through the tough HIIT sections, I end up feeling down at how much I fail at the core sections.

I try to include core-focused days every so often (about once every few weeks lol) as I am so determined to improve my core strength but end up feeling defeated - I can’t even hold a side plank 😭 I’ve had minor improvements (I can now actually do a few crunches before my muscles give up) but I want to be better...

I wondered if anyone else who hates / isn’t the best at core exercises and could offer some advice?
