How to choose a weighted vest?

I've been doing FB level 4-5 workouts for cardio finishers and find them to be an excellent addition to my workout regiment. I enjoy increasing the number of reps per timed interval to add intensity when I am able (and I work out in front of a mirror to make sure I do so with correct form), but I notice they often mention weighted vests as another way to ramp things up. Looking online there are a lot of different styles of weighted vest out there and a plethora of advice from un-vetted sources. Does anyone have any good resources from reputable sources that can help me choose a weighted vest? (Or even decide if I should get one at all?)

In particular I am interested in some of the more minimal vests because they seem to cover less surface area and seem to be more breathable. However they generally don't seem to come in adjustable weight versions and perhaps make the distribution of the weight slightly different? Any help appreciated!
