Tendonitis/Upper Body Strength

Hey guys

I was wondering if anyone had any tips to share on how to balance tendonitis issues(caused by computer work) with improving upper body strength. I get a lot of pain in my wrists/hands and I feel like it is really slowing my upper body progress as I have to lift a bit lighter than I'd like for some exercises and sometimes have to modify push-ups/planks to take the pressure off.
