First workout after lower back injury

I made it! I injured my lower back during a HIIT session last Sunday and needed everything from two chiro visits, to muscle relaxants to heat and ice to recover. Today, 7 days later I'm able to do the workout. I chose to not jump too much, no burpies, engage my core on every move and do squats and lunges over jumping ones. I did the weights slow and steady and it worked well. I will stretch, heat and shower and watch out. Thoughts on recovering from a lower back strain?
