Portion Control (Again)

Don’t know about you all, but I’ve pretty much always had a problem with portion control. I’m getting better, but I want my plate full...and then full again. Hmmm.

One of the tricks #chefinthemaking has been using on me lately is to fill my plate with vegetables. She’ll even let me go back for seconds as many times as I want. Haha.

A perfect example was this weekend when we were talking about what to have for dinner and I came up with a simple request, “grilled chicken and veggies” — thinking that I’d get a nice big chicken breast...with a few veggies on the side.

Nope...she had other plans.

So, what we ended up having was her take on my request:

* two small skewers of tikka masala-marinated chicken

* grilled asparagus, broccolini, and Swiss chard stems (with enough for seconds, and thirds)

* chickpea salad

Why does my wife have to trick me into eating normal, healthy portions? You’d think I could be trusted to do that myself...🤔
