Daily Workouts: How long is enough?

Hi,

I'm working hard to get in exercise 4-5 times a week because I love the mental health benefits. I am hoping to get in better shape, but sometimes my week just goes haywire: late work days, unexpected errands, or what have you interrupt the workout I have scheduled. Can doing a workout for 20-25 minutes still help me in my goals to get leaner? I'm working on my eating habits too. Thanks!
