Alcohol and losing weight

Hello! I am curious if any of you guys have given up alcohol for good to loose weight? Is it okay to still drink a couple times a month and still get results? I know booze and weight loss don't go hand in hand with one another so lots say to give it up for good or you won't get results. Is this true? Anyone know of any "healthier" alcohol choices? I can't drink wine or anything carbonated so my choice of alcohol is very limited. I go for the twisted teas due to them not being carbonated but they are 100% carbs. I know they are very bad for a person but do you think you can still loose weight if you only drink them a couple times a month? Thoughts anyone?
