Social Eating Challenge

Hi FB family, I'm hoping you can help me tackle a very specific social eating challenge I have.

We hang out with friends about one Saturday per month (or every other month) and play board games all day. I used to eat (and drink a lot) during the day. I've cut back the drinking to bringing a single hard cider or a single serve wine and that has worked well, but I'm not doing so great with the eating.

We start at 1 and finish at 7, so dinner is catered from somewhere and I do okay not overeating there. It is really the stretch throughout the mid-afternoon. There are tons of snacks (including a super yummy cheese and spinach dip) that I can't seem to keep out of. I've tried bringing a healthy lunch to eat right when I get there (still ate all afternoon) and I've tried eating nothing except breakfast before getting there (still ate all afternoon). Yes, there are veggies and such...but I never want to choose those. :-( I know one day doesn't derail progress, but it always seems too.

Any thoughts on another tactic I could try? Much appreciated!
