Cholesterol - any tips?

Hi everyone,

So...I have high cholesterol. I am genetically predisposed on both sides, and I've been prescribed a statin drug to lower my levels.

It's so depressing! Especially as it's mostly genetic. I could lose a few pounds, which I think will help, but I am astounded at how prevalent saturated fat is in food. I am trying to figure out the best way to manage this from a dietary perspective -- do I give up meat and dairy altogether? I haven't even picked up my prescription and already my goal is to get off of the drug.

Anyone else struggling with this?

Thank you! Would love to hear some success stories, and yes, I've combed through the relevant FB articles :)
