Longer or more often?

I posted a question roughly a week ago about why my abs are not really sore after a vigorous workout. The topic of my current post is rather similar.

I did a 63-minute (including warm up and cool down) HIIT and Abs workout routine on Sunday, which I really enjoyed. It wasn't strictly abs though because I still feel many of the muscle groups it also focused on.

If soreness is an indicator of how effectively you work out, then I was rather successful on Sunday.

I usually work out 5 or 6 days a week, however, none of the routines I choose is longer than 45 minutes (including warm up and cool down). After this longer routine, however, it occurred to me that maybe it's more effective to do a long routine 3 or maximum 4 times a week rather than shorter ones 5 times a week. What do you think?
