Our habitat management work party was cancelled today because of high winds. So this morning my husband said: “let’s clean the house today, then we won’t have to do it Saturday.” I was like: “nah, don’t feel like it at all today”. But then I remembered Kelli saying “Tomorrow You will thank Yesterday You”. Kelli called it a bit dorky, but it worked for me! Saturday Me will be thankful that Today Me did the cleaning already, yay!!!
As I was cleaning the bathroom another take on that idea entered my head:
“70-year-old Me will thank 61-year-old Me for making the effort to live a healthy life!!”
I was in the hospital the other day for a routine breast screening. Seeing people in there (with pjs on, with IV drips walking round) I felt soooo blessed to be my healthy me!
So today I am thanking my 53-year-old Me for making that big decision to change my unhealthy lifestyle for a healthy lifestyle now! And hopefully my 70-year-old Me will thank me in due course for my 61-year-old healthy lifestyle!
