Dumbell vs Barbell

Hello Fitness Blender Community. I have been working out with Fitness Blender for 5 months and have completed. 5 or so paid programs and feel just fantastic. The weight I am able to lift has increased significantly from day 1...my current struggle is not having enough upper body strength to support my lower body weights in bumbell form...is it time to upgrade to a barbell? Does this make weight baring easier for things like squat, lunge, deadlift? Thank you. As an aside, your videos have inspired me to go back to school at 45 years old and am currently working towards a diploma in "Fitness and Lifestyle management"...so excited to share my fitness passion to help others.
