We all know that exercise can be a lifesaver (literally!), but we need to have the mindset that taking care of our bodies is not punishment, but a privilege, because it is!
If we approach the topic with a sense of moderation, always with an eye on doing better today than we did yesterday, it's a much healthier, more functional, more sustainable, and likely more successful pathway to actually implementing and keeping those healthy changes.
