Low Calorie Strawberry Daiquiri Recipe: Fun Low Calorie Alcoholic Drinks

This Low Calorie Strawberry Daiquiri is perfect for sipping on in the warm end-of-day sun while sitting on a balcony that overlooks a sandy beach… no beach or sun on hand? That's okay, it also does the job when you’ve just plopped down on the couch in front of the TV after a long day at work. I like the first scenario better but, what can ya do?

Alcoholic drink recipes like this one make it easy to enjoy the occasional adult beverage or two without completely derailing your diet and dealing with the guilt of the aftermath.

It not only allows you the occasional indulgence of an adult beverage but it's also a mighty good tasting adult beverage at that. The use of fresh fruit even gives you a boost of vitamins and minerals that are rarely seen in an alcoholic beverage.

Here’s what you need to make a single serving of this Strawberry Daiquiri:

• 1-2 Shots of Rum (1.5-3 Ounces)
• 1 Cup Frozen Strawberries
• 2 Ounces Water
• 3/4 Cup Ice Cubes
• ¼ Packet of Crystal Light Strawberry Flavoring (roughly .03 oz)
• A Squeeze of Fresh Lime

How to make it:
Use a glass to dissolve the strawberry flavored Crystal Light into the water and rum. Add the dissolved Crystal Light and rum mixture to the bottom of a blender. Add the frozen strawberries and ice and blend well. Add a squeeze of fresh lime if you like! We suggest mixing in the juice of about a half of a lime per drink.

This drink has 144 calories for a single shot of rum, and 240 if you make it a double. Thanks to the whole strawberries, you get a good dose of Vitamin C and fiber. Enjoy responsibly!

Remember, alcohol is still empty calories, and it can lead to mindless munching or gorging on junk food if you overdo it.
